SCHOOL LUNCH AND PACKED LUNCHES

SCHOOL LUNCHES

School lunches will be provided daily by Hungry Moose.

Each day the menu features a delicious Meat or Fish option, a tasty Vegetarian selection, or a satisfying Jacket Potato. To keep mealtimes exciting, the menu will refresh every three weeks!

Menu choices will need to be ordered a week in advance and can be done on line via your child's Scopay account. Please see below for weekly menus and the calendar.

PACKED LUNCHES

West Meon Primary School has a  healthy approach to children's snacks & lunches.

We would not expect to see packets of sweets or bars of chocolate brought into school, the downside of extra sugar in young children having been well documented.

At playtime, in the morning, children with sweets, chocolate or chocolate covered bars will be challenged and asked to return the item to their bag. KS1 children are always offered a fruit snack.

Lunch time is slightly different as you will have provided a variety of foods to create a balanced meal. We recognise that as part of a balanced lunch, some 'desserts' in a lunch box may have chocolate on them for example; mini rolls, biscuit bars with chocolate flavoured filling, these are acceptable. If a child has taken an after-lunch treat from their lunch box for their break snack they will be asked to return it until lunch time.

Birthday cakes & sweet treats provided for children will continue to be distributed at the end of a day. Children are always told to take them home and check with their adult before eating, as a general rule they are not consumed at school.
