Mapping Contour Lines
Owls have been learning all about contour lines on a map as part of their Geography lesson. Hills, slops and mountains are represented on a map using contour lines. By studying the contour lines the children can work out lots about the surronding terrain including gradients of hills, valleys and steepness of climbs. They had great fun using potatoes as mountains as well as looking at the local area of West Meon and Winchester.
