Fort Nelson 2019

Our Year 1 children have been learning about famous people in history.  They have recently been learning about Florence Nightingale and on Monday 25th November they visited Fort Nelson in Portsmouth where they met the lady herself and some of her nurses.

They were shown what it was like to live as a soldier during the Crimean War and later they dressed up as soldiers and nurses attending to the wounded and cleaning the hospital.

They also joined Florence Nightingale to report on the facilities our soldiers had at Fort Nelson.

They had a wonderful time and really took part in the day role playing.  Take a look at these great photos!
