Sustainability Centre October 2017
On Monday 16th October Class 3 paid a visit to the Sustainability Centre in East Meon. They learnt how the Anglo Saxons lived, worked and fought.
The children learnt how to build an archway. Instead of stone the children used sandbags. They also learnt how to forage for herbs and all the different things you could do with them like flavouring food as well as using them for medicinal purposes. They also learnt how the Anglo Saxons fought and the weapons they used.
Whilst storm Ophelia was raging in the west our sky over the Sustainability Centre was eerie to say the least. The children wondered at the red sun and gloomy skies. Possibly our Anglo Saxon ancestors would have had a similar view during their time.
