On Tuesday 28th November Class 2 visited Winchester Cathedral and Winchester Museum as part of learning about Anglo Saxons.
They had a brilliant day making brooches, illuminations and also learning to write their name in Runes (old Anglo Saxon.)
They were shown around the cathedral and learnt all about St Swithin, the caskets containing the bones of Anglo Saxon kings and also about the organ pipes. They were amazed to learn that there were 6000 organ pipes!
During their time in the museum they saw models of Winchester during the eras of the Romans, Anglo Saxons and Victorians. They had fun identifying the different relics and dressing up in Anglo Saxon clothes.
