Marshmallow & Spaghetti Shape!

Year 3 were challenged to make and name 3D shapes out of spaghetti and marshmallows. They did really well and used a maths dictionary to check that the shapes were labelled accurately, as they stuck the pictures into their maths books.Year 4 were challenged to make and name 2D shapes out of spaghetti and marshmallows. They then used a venn diagram (and a long discussion) to sort the shapes according to their properties.

As a class we have decided that marshmallows and spaghetti are not good materials for model making! They are very sticky, break easily and don't hold their shape as the marshmallows melt.
